Omar Janjua is chief restaurant operations officer of SONIC®, America's Drive-in®. In this position, Janjua is responsible for overseeing all aspects of SRI operations including field marketing and operations support for SRI drive-ins. In addition Janjua is also executive vice president of operations for Sonic Industries, the company's franchising subsidiary. In this role he oversees operations services, quality assurance and training for the drive-in system.
Janjua joined SONIC in September 2009 from Steak 'n Shake Company, where he was previously executive vice president and chief operating officer. At Steak 'n Shake, he was responsible for the operations of 490 system restaurants with annual revenues of approximately $700 million. Previous to Steak 'n Shake, Janjua spent 18 years with Pizza Hut holding numerous positions most notably serving as vice president of franchise where he help provide support to 75 franchise groups operating 2,600 restaurants in 27 states; and vice president of company operations where he led 817 locations from St. Louis to Los Angeles; 15 regions in eight states that generated revenues in excess of $800 million.
Janjua holds a master's degree in business administration from Minnesota State University and is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology with a major in operations management.
Janjua lives in Oklahoma City with his family.
